You know, appropriately sappy songs that don’t scare the grandparents. This is by no means an exhaustive list, but it might give you a few ideas (or at the very least, introduce you to a few new bands!)

Maybe it’s because I love Ozzy, but I think “Momma I’m Coming Home” or “Goodbye to Romance” would make great wedding songs. I think “Silent Lucidity” by Queensryche would be a good one too. Speaking of the Scorpions, how about “Still Loving You”?

I think This Love is far from a wedding song. Ya there’s the point of love but also things not about happiness
I agree totally – I put ‘This Love’ in to be funny
The same with ‘Pleasure Slave’ and a few others.
Although, I hope one day I see a couple dance to Pantera at their wedding. That’d be uber metal!
This is an unknown from Sweet Cheater – “When I look in Your Eyes.” It has a distinct Bon Jovi-esque feel, and is a lot of fun. Okay – so it’s over the lighter metal variety! Still a fun wedding song that the guitar player wrote for his bride.

We’re using the Apocalyptica cover of Metallica’s “One” instead of the traditional wedding march as I go down the isle. Still trying to find a Type O Negative song that we can incorporate into the wedding without scaring off the relatives….
MANYMANYMANY Opeth songs are great songs for weddings. We’re playing “Harvest” at ours. And, as much of a Slayer fan as I am, there’s no way in hell Raining Blood won’t scare off the grandparents….Spill the Blood MAYBE would pass, but definitely not Raining.
